The Story Till Now

The word ‘Ranbhoomi’ truly captures the essence of any competitive sport. It is about the challenge, the war, the performance in the war, the rules, the ethics, the spirit and all that contributes to culminate into a healthy competition where one desires victory, in its every form.

Spread over a period of three days, Ranbhoomi, IIM Indore’s flagship sporting fest, is nothing short of a spectacle. Drawing elite participation from all over the country, it is a battle of the fittest, toughest and mightiest and only one emerges as the true winner. With humble beginnings, Ranbhoomi has grown into a mammoth fest with participation from 50+ colleges in 20+ events, with a footfall of more than 1000 and monumental pro nights, the likes of VH1 Supersonic, Trap Domination and Progressive Brothers to name a few.

Since its conception in 2015, Ranbhoomi has been unceasingly progressing each year, with major events like Arm Wrestling, Football, Badminton, Basket Ball, Squash, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Power Lifting, Cricket, Chess, and Swimming in the first year; to more than 20 events in the 2016 edition and having Mr. Gautam Gambhir as the host. A ‘Fight for Glory Campaign’ was organized to bring to light the suffering sports persons, which included a footfall of over 8000 and participation from over 80 colleges. 2017 saw Fitness Icon and Bollywood Star Sahil Khan gracing the occasion. With CrossFit—branded fitness regimen and huge enthusiasm for the sporting events, the fest was a roaring success. It also saw Genebandhu, a Delhi based NGO working for creating a platform for Stem Cell Donors, conducting its first ever stem cell donation camp in Indore during Ranbhoomi. Also featured was a short video message by Mr. Mariyappan Thangavelu, Gold Medallist, Rio Paralympics 2016. The night was lit with performances from DJ Night by Trap Domination along with DJ Vylom.

In its fourth edition, Ranbhoomi’18 promises to take a new avatar and bring up the competition to a whole new level. Students are gearing up for a intensive, fun-packed adrenaline-fueled three days and preparations are in full swing. Be there, or be there.
