Clean-Up Drive

Press Release

The pouring rain on the 6th of September seemed to loom heavy over the Ranbhoomi 6.0’s “Zoo Clean Up Drive” but the inclement weather did not dampen the spirits of the young and enthusiastic volunteers who patiently waited till the skies eventually cleared up.

The Clean Up Drive was organized in the Indore Zoo at Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalya, Indore. The Zoo authorities gladly permitted our team to conduct this drive and spread awareness about the Swacch Bharat Campaign and the importance of a clean environment. The volunteers, in teams of 6 went around collecting waste paper, plastic wrappers and bottles, entertained by the chirping birds and the cacophony of numerous animals present there. That Sunday the Zoo saw over 300 visitors. The team when on their Cleanliness Mission had many opportunities to interact and the sensitise the public on Clean and Green Habits and the ill effects of Single Use Plastic. The teams also informed the visitors about the vision and purpose of Ranbhoomi- IIM Indore’s Sport Fest.

Another volunteer group ARPF(Animal Rehabilitation and Protection Front) was also present and some of them enthusiastically joined in on the Cleanliness Drive.

The Drive ended with a sense of fulfillment as the Ranbhoomi team returned to the campus having lived and witnessed the truth as put by Ronald.J.Sider that “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something, and together we can change the world.”
